Good cause: Low income spay/neuter clinic for cats

By on August 3, 2015 in Articles, Pets with 0 Comments

The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society is hosting their third cat spay/neuter clinic in a follow-up to the previous clinics held this past March and June. With help from the Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project out of Lynnwood, the clinics have so far spayed or neutered a total of 140 cats – both feral and domestic. WVHS is dedicated to keeping these clinics going to help our lower income community get their cats fixed.

Spaying and neutering cats is the best way to help keep cat populations from exploding which quickly turns into thousands of unwanted cats within a matter of a few years.

This clinic, like the last two, is available to those that have lower incomes that typically are unable to afford these surgeries with a regular vet appointment. There is an approval process and $20 per cat fee. Contact Tamra Hively at thively@wenatcheehumane.org to begin this process. Appointments ONLY made after approval. Surgeries are by appointment only, no walk-ups are allowed the day of the clinic.

This upcoming clinic will be held Saturday, August 22 and will be returning to the Wenatchee Community Center. For more information, please visit our websitewww.wenatcheehumane.org or our facebook page facebook.com/wenatcheehumane.

Founded in 1967, the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society is the only animal shelter serving Chelan & Douglas Counties, providing care for displaced pets.  Other services include rescuing injured & lost animals, spay/neuter services with each adoption, investigating cruelties & finding new homes for abandoned & stray animals.  The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society is an independent non-profit shelter, relying on donations & support from the local community in order to provide these crucial services to our area.
